Non-UK residents who establish a limited company in the UK often need to legalize certain company incorporation documents to verify their authenticity for international use. This involves obtaining an Apostille Certificate, which is attached to the relevant company document to confirm its authenticity for use abroad.

Notary Certification: A Notary certifies the document to confirm its authenticity.
Apostille Certificate: The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) attaches an Apostille Certificate to the verified document. This process ensures acceptance of the documents in all countries that are parties to the 1961 Hague Convention.

An Apostille Certificate is a form of authentication added to official documents. First, documents are certified by a solicitor, and then the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) attaches the Apostille Certificate to verify their authenticity.
This certification allows the documents to be used outside the UK.
There is no limit to the number of documents you can have Apostilled at one time. For the purpose of attaching an Apostille Certificate, the Memorandum & Articles of Association are considered one document. All other documents will require a separate Apostille Certificate.
Apostilled company documents are accepted in any of the 122 countries that are parties to the 1961 Hague Convention. We cannot guarantee their acceptance in countries that are not party to the Convention.
You typically only need Apostilled documents if you are opening a business bank account outside the UK or establishing a new branch of your company overseas.
After payment, we will certify your documents and send them to the FCDO for the Apostille Certificate.
Once your Apostilled documents are returned to us, we will forward them to you free of charge by Royal Mail Special Delivery. For an additional cost of £13.00, we can use International Tracked and Signed delivery, or you may opt for premium couriers such as DHL at an additional charge.
