A service address is the official correspondence address for individuals such as company directors, LLP members, secretaries, or persons with significant control (e.g., shareholders who own more than 25% of a company’s shares). This is where they receive official government mail. It is a legal requirement, and the service address appears on public record.

Any full postal address in the UK or abroad can be used as a service address, except for PO Boxes. While residential addresses are acceptable, many people prefer to use an alternate service address to maintain privacy.

Why do I need a Service address?

It is legally required for limited company directors, secretaries, LLP members, subscribers (the first company members during incorporation), and PSCs. It is used for receiving official government mail and legal notices from HMRC related to the individual’s role in the company or LLP. The service address will be displayed on the Companies House public register. Our London service address helps protect your home address and prevents unsolicited mail or visitors from showing up at your residence.

All statutory mail received at our London service address will be forwarded daily to clients via scan and email.

How do I buy a service address?

Mail Handling Services:

All official government mail will be scanned and emailed to you daily at no extra cost. Please note, general business correspondence is not included in this service.

Please be aware:

The annual cost of £26.00 covers the use of this service for one director only. If additional company officers wish to use this address, the service must be purchased separately for each individual.
Once purchased, this service can only be used for one company. The same officer cannot use the address for multiple companies without purchasing the service for each company.

This service is exclusively for use as a service address for individuals. However, companies registered in England and Wales can opt for our London Registered Office service, available separately for £39.00 per year.

Can I use this service address for general mail forwarding purposes?

Our London Service Address is strictly for receiving and forwarding statutory mail for individual company officers. It does not cover general mail forwarding. However, our Business Address service, available separately for £96.00 per year, can be used for general mail purposes.

What qualifies as official government mail?

Official government mail includes correspondence from any UK government body, as well as Court documents.

What is the cost of the service address after the first year?

Rocket Formations London Service Address costs £26.00 per year plus VAT for each subsequent year.
